SOUTH BEND - On January 1, 2018, God called Thomas Adam Kajzer to step on the road toward home. Thomas was born January 2, 1934 in South Bend, the son of the late Sylvester and Lottie ‘Anna' (Piechocki) Kajzer. June 1, 1957 he married the love of his life, June Marchbanks. They lived and raised their family in South Bend's Southside. Left to cherish his memory include sons, Christopher (Rebeca) of Dallas, Texas and Thomas Kelly (Layla) and granddaughters, Kayley and Kyley of Abaleen Texas. receding him in death are a sister and brother-in-law Adeline and Stanley Zalas, mother-in-law Nora Marchbanks all of South Bend. God and Country held a dear place in the heart of Thomas. He served 2 years with the Army Military Police, then returned home to his family. Coaching baseball and football for Holy Cross Grade School remained a treasured time in his life. Tom worked for South Bend Water Works, and retired from Olinger Liquor with 33 years of service.The love for sports often found Thomas in his chair cheering on the The Notre Dame Fighting Irish, The Green Bay Packers, or walking toward the greens with a club in his grip. Tom was also a member of the Cathedral of St. Matthews Parish and The Knights of Columbus. Thomas will always be known for being a good and kind man. Forever faithful to his Catholic faith, his family, and his many friends. A funeral service to honor Thomas will take place on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 2:00pm in St. Joseph Funeral Home, 1827 E. Ireland road, South Bend, 46614 with a visitation from 1:00pm to 2:00pm in the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation to St. Matthews school, 1015 E. Dayton, South Bend, IN 46613 or Holy Cross School's Athletic Departments, 920 W. Wilbur, South Bend, IN 46628.
