SOUTH BEND - Elaine I. Kleva, 93, passed away on Tuesday, November 7, 2017, in Memorial Hospital.Elaine was born July 20, 1924, in South Bend, to the late Julius and Rose (Egyed) Pinter. On September 9, 1942, Elaine married Frank Kleva, who preceded her in death. Elaine was also preceded in death by three sisters. Survivors of Elaine include her children, James (Roberta) Kleva, Rhonda Kleva, and Warren (Tanya Wilson) Kleva; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Joel) Turak, Brandon (Holly) Sims, Justin (Kelli) Sims, Jessica (Gordon) Clements, Jonathan (Kate) Kleva; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Chase & Landon Maxey, Casey & Carley Turak, Emmery & Corey Sims, Alaina & Elyssa Clements, Martin & Luke Kleva. Elaine retired July 1, 1991, from the University of Notre Dame. She enjoyed bowling, reading, word search puzzles, and being at home with her family and dogs. Elaine was an outstanding grandmother; the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was very precious to her. St. Joseph Funeral Home is assisting the family with a Private Service. Entombment will be at Highland Cemetery.
