John P. Wiskotoni, age 73, passed away as the result of cancer at his home on June 21, 2022. John was born in South Bend to Daniel and Marie (Bogacki) Wiskotoni who both preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Kathleen Wiskotoni. John married the former Nancy Gilroy on July 8, 1972, who survives. He also leaves to cherish his memory daughter, Lori A. Snyder (Rick Hover) and son, James D. (Shawntel) Wiskotoni; grandsons, Conner Snyder and Finley Wiskotoni, step-grandsons, Caden and Blake Stratton. He is also survived by his sister, Susan Mullin, and brother, Paul (Paula) Wiskotoni. Also surviving are his nieces and nephews, Sarah and Jennifer Mullin, Michael and Timothy Reed, Mark Piechowiak, Stacy Griner, Heather Ryan and Molly Farrar. John attended the former Central High School and the IBEW #153 trade school. He worked as an electrician for many years retiring from H&G Services in 1991 after 24 years with that company. John was an avid Cubs, Bears and Notre Dame fan. He enjoyed his family time, fishing, bowling, golf and woodworking. He was a member of Bowlers Country Club and IBEW #153. He was also a past President and Secretary of the former VFW 9820 Mens’ Auxiliary. Memorial contributions may be made to Bowlers Country Club (55839 Pine Road, South Bend, Indiana 46619 - earmarked "Golf Course Maintenance") or VFW Post 9820 (4829 West Linden Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, 46619). St. Joseph Funeral Home has been entrusted with cremation. Following cremation, his ashes will be released in a private service conducted by family. John requested no funeral services be held.
