Services for John L. Staszewski, 83, of 506 S Brookfield St., who died at 9:25am Tuesday in St Joseph's Medical Center, will be at 10am Friday in St Adalbert's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 9pm Thursday in St Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be said at 7pm. Mr. Staszewski was employed for 33 years by the former Studebaker Corp. and retired in 1969 from the city Sanitation Department. He was born December 14, 1904, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. On July 31, 1937, in South Bend, he married the former Violet Stachowski, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Pat Szalewski of South Bend; a son, Eugene J. of South Bend; and six grandchildren. Mr. Staszewski was a member of the church. SBT 5/4/1988
