SOUTH BEND, IN - Julius J. Szabo, 93, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. Julius was born January 1, 1928 in Scranton, Pennsylvania to the late Julius and Rose (Boris) Szabo. They preceded him in death along with a son, Danny Szabo. Julius married Esther (Springer) Szabo. She survives along with a son, Robert Szabo, Sr. of Walkerton, IN; five grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren; brother, John (Lorraine) Szabo and sister, Rosalie Szabo. Julius honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a self-employed electrician. Julius was member of the DAV, American Legion #357, and Bowlers Country. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He also enjoyed golfing and dancing. The family would like to thank the Center for Hospice for their care of Julius during his illness. Visitation for Julius will be 10:00 am to 11:00 am, Tuesday, March 9, 2021 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. Funeral services will follow at 11:00am on Tuesday. Entombment will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice. Condolences for the family can be made at www.sjfh.net.
