MISHAWAKA, IN - Iris R. Sones, 95, of Mishawaka, died Thursday, March 18, 2021 in Mishawaka. She was born September 11, 1925 in London, England to George and Anne (Petchell) Humphrys. In June of 1947 she married Kenneth L. Sones. He preceded her in death in November of 1989. Surviving are three daughters, Linda Hoehner of Florida, Jeanne Sones of Michigan, and Debra (Scott) Suski of Mishawaka, IN, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kenneth, daughter Karen Linville, and son Michael Sones. Iris was a war bride and came to the United States on March 17, 1946. She was a very intelligent lady with a vast knowledge of antiques. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, was a well-known author, and was known by many and loved by all. Cremation will take place and a celebration of life service will be held at a later date. Elkhart Cremation Services is entrusted with her care. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. To plant trees in memory, please visit our Sympathy Store.
