Lois K. Ehninger, 91, of South Bend, died early Thursday morning, January 11, 2018, in Lakeland Hospital, Niles, Michigan. Lois was born April 8, 1926, in South Bend, to the late Alice (Nappier) and Frank Udvardi, and was a lifetime resident. On August 2, 1946, she married the late Robert Ehninger. Surviving are a daughter, Terry Fennig (Steve) of Bryant, IN, three sons, Lane Ehninger (Kim) and Randall Ehninger (Lynda) also of South Bend, and Todd Ehninger of Columbus, OH; nine grandchildren, Douglas (Rachel), Brett (Stacy), Ellie (Matt), Erin ( Sanjay), Wes (Janelle), Joel Ehninger, Chris (Chara), Andrew (Kristen), and Kinsey Fennig; and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Beryl Nickel and Doris Georgandas, and one brother, Robert Udvardi. She also has a brother, Richard Udvardi who survives. Lois was a lifetime member and attender of Portage Prairie United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and showed her love for the Lord. She was active in Hope Ministries and worked many years as a Registered Nurse at Lakeland Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16th, in Portage Prairie United Methodist Church, 2450 Orange Road, Niles, MI, with Rev. Ralph (Rap) Posnik officiating. Committal services will follow at Portage Prairie Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church on Tuesday, January 16th from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.
