Josephine A. Gorski, 90, of Granger, IN, formerly of Roseland, IN, passed away at 2:15 p.m., Friday, April 7, 2006, in her home. Josephine was born on March 14, 1916, in South Bend, to Michael and Marcyanna (Gorecki) Kroll, and was a lifelong resident. She retired in 1977 from Valley Lea Dairies, where she was employed as a Lab Tech. On June 17, 1943, as Josephine A. Kroll, she married Casimir J. Gorski, who preceded her in death on February 13, 1993. Also preceding her in death were seven sisters, Katherine Golubski, Stella Chwalek, Mary Kroll, Frances Bodge, Clementine Gorski, Tecla Hansen and Felice Plonski; and two brothers, Tom and Edward Kroll. Survivors include her daughter, Kathleen J. (Dan) Venis of Granger, IN; two grandchildren, Michele L. Pischalko of Duvall, WA, and Steve R. (Stephanie) Pischalko II of South Bend, IN; two step-grandchildren, Kristel Venis of Mishawaka, IN, and Mandy (Keith) Gartlan of Florida; one great-granddaughter, Sophia Rose Pischalko; and four step-great-grandchildren, Jordan Venis, Sean Gartlan, Colin Gartlan and Sydney Harmen-DuJardin; and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 11, 2006, in Christ the King Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 Monday in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. Josephine was a member of Christ the King Parish and had been a member of the funeral lunch committee. She loved her pets, enjoyed reading, and enjoyed sitting watching the birds and flowers in her garden. She was known as ©?Foxy Grandma©? to her grandchildren.
