LA PORTE - Franklin D. Secor, age 73, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 9:20 AM at IU Health La Porte Hospital. He was born on February 2, 1943 in Chicago, IL, to Phillip and Mary (Zboncak) Secor. On November 25, 1967 in Chicago, IL, Franklin married Rachel Marcowka; she preceded him in death on July 16, 2015. Surviving are his beloved children, Laura (Andrew) Perez of Murfreesboro, TN, Frank D. Secor of Oaklawn, IL, and Rebecca McKay of Palos Heights, IL; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Kate, Frank, Stephanie, John, Gabrielle, and Luke; two great-grandchildren, Bailey and Landon; and a large extended family of siblings, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Franklin served his country honorably in the United States Army and retired as a Union Carpenter. He was a member of the New Carlisle American Legion Post #297. A cremation committal has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
