Esther I. Kukla, 99 passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at Brookdale Senior Living South Bend, IN. Esther was born April 6, 1922 to the late Peter R. and Wanda (Leszcz) Kowalski. She also mourned the deaths of her sister Virginia Wroblewski, a brother Joseph and unexpected, unbearable loss of her son James Kukla and grandson, Tobias. She married Edward D. Kukla at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church on August 23, 1947. He also preceded her in death. She is survived by her children Lynn Joslin of Mishawaka, Edward D Kukla Jr. of Fremont, CA., Jill (Brad) Mahany of Livermore CA. Gary Kukla of New Carlise and Diane Manning of Lexington KY: grandchildren, Bonnie, Evan, Candice and Kayla; and ten great grandchildren. She loved her husband, children and their sprouts. She enjoyed gardening, decorating her home, reading and playing euchre with her special friends. To my love I shared over 70 years with, we are together now. Gary our son was our right hand main care giver 24/7, we can never repay you for everything you have done for your father and I. Adell Yost, my sister-in-law in Florida, our daily phone calls felt like a ray of sunshine. We did our best to provide for our children. At her request there will be no visitation or services.
