Bert S. Pitula
Bert S. Pitula, 60, of 908 Dover Dr., died at 9:20 a.m. Sunday at Memorial Hospital after an illness of nine months. He was an employee of the Donmore Furniture Co., of Elkhart. He was born Feb. 15, 1909, in South Bend. On Nov. 17, 1936, he married Bertha Szlanfucht, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ray Clevenger of Walkerton, Mrs. Michael Lukawski of Mishawaka, Mrs. Leon Olaski and Mrs. Lester Schafer, both of South Bend; eight grandchildren; a brother, Roman Pitula of Decatur, Mich.; and two sisters, Mrs. George Collings and Mrs. Helen Przybysz, both of South Bend. He was a member of the Z. B. Falcons. Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Bilancio-Guisinger Colonial Chapel. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Jude's Catholic Church with Rev. John J. Szot, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
