SOUTH BEND - Ronald G. Dahms was born in Benton Harbor, MI on March 7, 1932 to William (Bill) and Frances Lucille "Peg" (McNitt) Dahms, and passed away at Center for Hospice House from natural causes. Ronald married Joan (Kromkowski) Dahms on January 31, 1953. He had lived in Benton Harbor and South Bend. Ronald was preceded in death by Joan, his wife on June 6, 2007, his parents, and his brother George. Ronald is survived by his five children, Linda (Robert) Ullery of South Bend, Gary (Mary) Dahms of North Liberty, Judy Mossell of South Bend, Richard (Coyla) Dahms of Jeffersonville, IN, and Mark (Tammy) Dahms of South Bend; nine grandchildren, Tanya Rose of South Bend, Terrie (Reed) Kipp of North Liberty, Shawn (Bonnie) Mossell of South Bend, Megan Radde of Granger, Jackie (Mike) Schroeder of Brookston, IN, Eric Radde of Granger, Reshel Dahms of Jeffersonville, IN, Kali and Kendall Dahms of South Bend; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor and Joshua Rose of South Bend, Austin Csenar, Zakary and Evelyn Kipp, Katie Mossell, and Nicholas Schroeder; two step-great-grandchildren, Kalene and Tracy Peacock; brother, Daniel (Dixie) Dahms; one step-brother, Glenn Frazier; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Ronald enlisted in the Army in 1949 and served in the Korean War. He worked most of his life between Stanley Enterprises and Michiana Machine. After retirement, he drove for Robert's Motor and Tyler's in Niles. Ronald was a member of M.R. Falcons, Holy Name Society, American Legion and St. Hedwig and St. Patrick's Parishes. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, August 7, 2014 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. MAYFLOWER ROAD, South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm. Family and friends will gather at 11:00 am on Friday, August 8, 2014 in St. Hedwig Catholic Church for the Mass of Christian Burial. Cremation will take place with burial at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to St. Hedwig Parish, 331 S. Scott St., South Bend, Indiana 46601 and The Center for Hospice, 4220 Edison Lakes Parkway, Suite 210, Mishawaka, Indiana 46545. The family would like to thank the staff at The Center for Hospice for their loving care.
