MISHAWAKA - Donald E. Takacs, 46, of East McKinley Avenue, died at 12:56 p.m. Sunday in his sister's home after an illness. Mr. Takacs was a manufacturing engineer at Dexter Rim and Wheel Co., Elkhart, for 17 years. He was born Feb. 13, 1949, in Mishawaka. On Sept. 14, 1974, in Mishawaka, he married Kathy L. Beaver. She survives with a daughter, Kellie Jo Takacs, of Mishawaka; two sons, Ryan C. and Joseph R., both at home; his mother, Katheryn M. Takacs of Winter Haven, Fla.; five sisters, Shirley Fell of Granger, Joanne Zumbaugh of Kissimmee, Fla., Judy DeMorrow of Grand Rapids, Pam Lefferts of Alabama and Jackie Slane of Florida; and a brother, John Takacs of California. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 360, and a veteran of the Vietnam War. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery, Osceola.
