KITTY HAWK, NC - Suellen Leslie, 77, of Kitty Hawk, NC, passed on July 11, 2016. Born on Feb. 3, 1939, in South Bend, IN, to Jane and Martin Tarnow, Suellen was predeceased by her only sister, Nancy (Tarnow) Bartels. Suellen had a master's degree in special education from Indiana University. Her career included teaching, sales and most notably owner/operator of the Palms Restaurant in Lexington, VA. Suellen was independent and adventurous throughout her life. From being involved with her sons in sports, love for art to birdwatching and traveling the US and abroad. She was an active supporter of many animal and nature groups, including the Martin's Point deer! She was also generous with her time and her contributions to the people and organizations she thought she could help both locally and nationally. She was an active member of Duck United Methodist Church. Suellen is survived by her two sons, Mark Jones of Los Angeles, CA, and Randy Jones of Southern Shores, NC; and her four grandchildren, Ryan, Brayleigh Reese and Enzo and dog, Lucy.
