Henry J. Montz, Sept. 16, 1912 - May 1, 2003, Henry John MONTZ, 90, 1167 S. Woodlawn Drive, Winamac, formerly of Kewanna, died at 9:23 p.m. Thursday at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac. Born in South Whitley to Clyde Franklin and Emelea KEISER MONTZ, he married Alice WELLER Oct. 10, 1937, in Kewanna. She died Jan. 30, 1971. He married Elizabeth McLOCHLIN COLGROVE May 12, 1973, in Winamac. She survives. Mr. Montz was chief of the Kewanna Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He was a former Kewanna School System bus driver and formerly owned and operated Pure Oil Service Station, Kewanna. He also worked as a spring maker at Winamac Coil Spring, Kewanna, for 20 years. Mr. Montz was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac. He was an avid bowler and a dedicated husband, father and grandfather. Surviving with his wife, at home, are two daughters, Vivian Ann PESARESI and husband Dan, Mishawaka, and Lillian L. KOLASZAR and husband Marv, Salem, S.C.; two stepsons, Gary COLGROVE and wife Betty, Winamac, and Larry COLGROVE, Indianapolis; one stepdaughter, Sharon GERDEMAN and husband Rich, Rockford, Ill.; six grandchildren, Christina MACE, Annamaria ROBB, Lorrie KENDALL, Cori KOLASZAR-BALL, Ali TREON and Dan PESARESI Jr.; three great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; one step-great-great-grandchild. Preceding in death was one son, Victor A. MONTZ, one brother and three sisters. Services are at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Winamac, with Rev. John HOYING and Deacon Rich GERDEMAN officiating. Burial will be at Citizens IOOF Cemetery, Kewanna. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday at Frain Mortuary, 305 E. Main St., Winamac. A Rosary service will be at 6 p.m. and a scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Catholic Church or the Kidney Foundation.
