SOUTH BEND - Delphine “Dolly” Halloran, 80, of South Bend died at 2:12 p.m. Thursday, May 31 in St. Joseph Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Dolly was born May 15, 1938 in South Bend to the late Helen (Sobkowski) and Stanley Konke, and was a lifetime area resident. On June 13, 1959 in South Bend, she married Jerry Halloran who survives. Also surviving are her daughter, Jill Halloran-Barnes (Scott) of South Bend; her son, Mark Halloran (Mary Jane) of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Lindsay Galligan and Griffin Halloran; three great-grandchildren, Isabella DeLong, and Seeley and Evergreen Galligan; and her special nephew, Ronald Schwartz (Cindy) of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Zenobia Schwartz, Cassilda Turza, and Ray Konke. Dolly loved her children and her family and gave everything to them. Family was always the most important thing to her. She loved volunteering at the airport after her children were married and was “Tourism Volunteer of the Year” in 1997. She loved reading, traveling, and going to movies. She will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Friday, June 15 in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, University of Notre Dame. Cremation has taken place.
