MISHAWAKA - Gertrude S. (Kazmierczak) Ewald, 91, of Mishawaka, passed into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Gertrude was born November 9, 1929 in Bronson, Michigan to the late Leo Kazmierczak and Barbara Nicklas. On May 20, 1950 in South Bend, she married Raymond S. Ewald; he preceded her in death February 14, 2001.
She was a homemaker all her life; but had worked in retail for fifteen years. Gertrude was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary. Surviving are her three children, Richard (Mary) Ewald of Moline, Illinois; daughters, Susan Pippenger and Carol Ryan both of Elkhart; seven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; six sisters and one brother. A Mass of Christian burial will take place at 11:00AM Saturday, November 14, 2020 at St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, 2114 East Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, with Fr. Ben Muhlenkamp Officiating. Entombment will follow immediately at Highland Cemetery.
