Alex R. Szabo
Alex R. Szabo, 74, of 54631 N. 29th St. died at 6:45 Sunday in his home. Mr. Szabo retired in 1978 from South Bend Range Co. He was born Aug. 26, 1913, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. On June 24, 1961, in Lakeville, he married Virginia Lekarczyk, who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Susan Blain of South Bend; a son, Richard of South Bend; three stepsons, Lt. Col. Robert Lekarczyk of Albuquerque, N.M., Larry Lekarczyk of South Bend and Maj. David Lekarcxzyk of Washington D.C; and eight grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Funeral Home, where friends may call until 9 p.m. today. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Published in the South Bend Tribune; Tuesday, Nov. 24, 1987.
