Don L. Mroz of South Bend passed away Monday, October 22, 2018 in Memorial Hospital of cancer. In accordance with Don’s wishes cremation has taken place. No public service will be held. Arrangements are by Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, Mishawaka. Don was born July 22, 1965 in South Bend to Mardell (Mardi) E. Mroz and the late Melvin M. Mroz. He attended Penn High School and Ivy Tech Community College. Proficient in all types of welding he worked generally in the RV industry. Don had a passion for music of various genres. He was a talented guitar player and enjoyed writing and singing his penned songs. He also enjoyed cooking old family recipes, grilling steak, and hanging out with his beloved Bengal feline companion, Ted.
Don was preceded in death by his father, and his sister Debra Mroz. He is survived by a son, Jonaton J. Mroz, South Bend, a brother Melvin Mroz of Ocala Florida, and three sisters, Toni Macon of Lake Jackson, Texas, Terri O’Bryan (Michael) of Mishawaka, and Shelli Pickett of Mishawaka.
Through his siblings he also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins; Dianna Walsh, Joey Walsh, Tyler Nixon, Brittany Black (Josh), Quinlan Black, Brady Black, Christine Pratt (Tom), Maeve Pratt, Leslie Edwards Judy, Rhea Fillmore, Carter Fillmore, Miah Fillmore, Brandon Sells, Zachary Judy, Lindsey Hanback (Rich), Savannah Teller, Richard Hanback, Peyton Hanback, Lisa Saylor (John), Riley Saylor, Bryce Saylor, Erick Saylor, Danielle Mroz-Larsin, Rich Mroz, and April Mroz. Those wishing to make a memorial donation may do so in Don’s name by service or treasure to a food bank or animal shelter of your choice.
