GRANGER - Mary J. Floridia, 91, of Granger, IN, passed away at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 6, 2017, at The Waterford at Edison Lakes. Mary was born on May 24, 1926, in Plati, Italy, to Vincent and Margaret (Perri) Scarfo. On November 30, 1946, at St. Monica Catholic Church in Mishawaka, Mary married John P. Floridia. John has preceded Mary in death. Mary was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Vincent Floridia, a sister, Catherine Floridia, and a brother-in-law, Frank Floridia. Mary will be missed dearly by her family. Surviving are a son, Paul “Butch” Floridia, and his wife, Cindy of Granger, her nieces and nephews, and her grand dog, Nikki, who she loved to have in her lap. Mary was a homemaker who loved to cook and spend time with her family. She loved going on trips to the casinos and Notre Dame football. The family would like to thank everyone at the Waterford at Edison Lakes including the nursing staff, especially Bonita, Anita and Becca, who are very caring and loving. And a thank you to Terri and Stella with Heart to Heart Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 11, at St. Monica Catholic Church, 222 West Mishawaka Avenue, Mishawaka, with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m. until service time. Father Jacob Meyer will officiate the services with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Monica Catholic Church. Bubb Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
