Deborah Marie Weist, 60, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Saturday, November 26, 2022. She was born on March 9, 1962, in South Bend to Gordon and Beverly (Farkas) Weist. She was preceded in death by her father Gordon and one brother Eric. Deborah is survived by two daughters, Brooke (Randy Shelton) Murray of Granger, Indiana, Nia Thomas of South Bend, Indiana, two sons, Bryce Cantu of South Bend, Indiana, Essa (Giselle Montero) Thomas of South Bend, Indiana, six grandchildren, Jaymen, Makale, Tony, all of Granger, Indiana, A’Maria, Caelum, and Kehlani all of South Bend, Indiana, two brothers, Greg (Christine) Weist of Mishawaka, Indiana, David Weist of Niles, Michigan, and nine nieces and nephews, Bryanna, David, Eric, Landon, Mira, Rexy, Jakob, Alec and Jaki. “Debbie” was a loving and caring woman, always giving her time to other people and her children. She graduated May 11, 1996, with her Associates Degree in Nursing. Deborah worked as a nurse for over 20 years at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. She had a passion for caring for each person she took care of, and building strong relationships with co-workers throughout her entire career. She would spend free time with her dog, Piper, close family, friends, and her loving mother. Caring for her vegetables and flowers was a beautiful passion of hers. She also found warm comfort in hobbies like reading, scrapbooking, and sewing. She loved the outdoors and to travel. Her smile and beautiful personality would light any room she entered. A visitation will be held on Saturday December 3, 2022 from 11:00am to 3:00pm at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr. South Bend, IN. A funeral service will take place at 3:00 pm in the funeral home. Cremation will follow.
