Judie Geyer
(Feb. 4, 1951 -- April 30, 2006)

Judie D. Geyer, 55, residing in Granger, IN, passed away suddenly on Sunday morning, April 30, 2006, at their lake home in Cassopolis, MI. She was born February 4, 1951, in South Bend, the daughter of Joseph and Evelyn (Danch) Szucs, who reside in South Bend. On December 9, 1972, at the Cathedral of St. Matthew, South Bend, as Judie Szucs, she married Tom Geyer, who survives. She is also survived by a daughter, Elizabeth "Libby" Eyestone of Mishawaka; two sons, Christopher Geyer of Osceola and Eric Geyer of Bloomington, IN. Also surviving are three grandchildren, Jewel and Dylan Eyestone, and David Geyer. A sister, Cyndi (Denny) Walz of South Bend, and three brothers, Joseph (Sally) Szucs Jr. of South Bend, Mike (Cindy) Szucs of Granger and Patrick (Sharon) Szucs of South Bend survive Judie as well. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Dr. Eugene Geyer in 1992. Judie graduated in 1969 from James Whitcomb Riley High School. In 1985 she began working at Grace United Methodist Church, South Bend. She had been the church administrator for the past 15 years, and had been a very active member of the many ministries of the church. She enjoyed cooking and doing crafts, and playing cards with the ladies at church. Services celebrating the life of Judie Geyer will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 6, in Grace United Methodist Church, 3012 South Twyckenham Drive, South Bend. Revs. Hosea Drake and Amy Covington will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 5, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, and one hour prior to services Saturday in the church. Contributions in memory of Judie Geyer may be made to Grace United Methodist Church or to the charity of donor's choice. Published in The South Bend Tribune; May 2, 2006
