SOUTH BEND - Nancy A. Kovacs, 81, of South Bend, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning with her family by her side. Nancy was born October 7, 1929, in South Bend, to the late Raymond and Jeannette (Crouse) Engdahl. On November 22, 1952, in South Bend, she married Homer S. Kovacs. He survives to cherish her memory along with daughters, Linda K. Martin (Michael) of Floyds Knobs, IN, and Barbara K. Black of Atlanta, GA; as well as three grandchildren, Melissa M. Martin, Patrick S. Martin and Jessie E. Black; and her brother, James Engdahl (Jolene) of South Bend. Mrs. Kovacs retired from American National Bank where she was a teller for 16 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mishawaka and belonged to the Women's Auxiliary of the Elks No. 235. She had many hobbies: bridge clubs, bowling, golfing, sewing, and she also enjoyed working puzzles. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 14th, in the Welsheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road. Reverend Larry Whitehead will officiate the services. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may visit with the family Monday, June 13th, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home.
