Oral History from Joanne Machowiak states that Joseph Drzewiecki was killed in the War along with his brother, this might have been the Franco-Prussian or the Polish insurection of that time period. Oral history from Dave Drzewiecki states that he was killed in a Horse and Buggy accident. Since we will never know for sure the reader may select which ever is most appealing.
The name Drzewiecki translates to Woodsman or Lumberjack in Polish and it was common to assume a surname based on profession, village of origin or the Fathers first name.,
