SOUTH BEND - Esther E. Lanchsweerdt, 92, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2008 at Sanctuary At St. Josephs, South Bend. Esther was born on March 14, 1916 in Mishawaka to August and Marie (Coryn) Boulanger. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Albert Boulanger of Goshen, IN. On April 25, 1936 as Esther Boulanger she married Robert C. Lanchsweerdt who died on February 8, 1990. Surviving are her daughter, Barbara (Mike)Lutomski of South Bend; son Robert (Jan) Lanchsweerdt of Mishawaka; 11 grandchildren, Robert (Jennifer) Lanchsweerdt, Andrew (Tracy) Lanchsweerdt, Keri (Brian) Sackowski, Michael (Teena) Lutomski, Thomas (Diane) Lutomski, Stephen (Janet) Lutomski, David Lutomski, Debbie (Jack) Spillman, Kathie Lutomski, Sue (Dave) Dull and Barbie (Dean) Ernsperger; 20 great grandchildren one due in Oct; two great great grandchildren; a brother, Omer Boulanger of Port Orange, Fl. Esther was a life long area resident. She enjoyed spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Matthews Cathedral, South Bend. Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. with a Rosary at 4:00 p.m., on Monday, August 4th, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 5th in St. Matthew Cathedral South Bend with Rev. Dermot Gahan officiating.
