SOUTH BEND - Raymond M. Banaszak, 76, of South Bend, passed away at 10:54 p.m. Monday, August 2, 2010, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Ray was born on April 15, 1934, in South Bend, to the late Alex and Gladys (Graszyk) Banaszak. Ray proudly served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army. He worked as a butcher for many years, most of those years at Park-N-Shop. He is survived by two brothers, Fred Banaszak and Norbert (Phyllis) Banaszak, both of South Bend; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Banaszak of South Bend. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Joan Wooten and Regina Banaszak; and three brothers, Robert, Joseph and John Banaszak. A private family service will take place with burial of ashes at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola, is handling arrangements.
