South Bend - Jeannette Marie Ciesielski, 98, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022. Jeannette was born August 15, 1923 in South Bend, to the late Edmond and Malvina DeWispelaere. On June 10, 1950 Jeannette married her loving husband Louis. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2018. She is also preceded in death by her son, Dominic; granddaughter, Carol Ciesielski; and brother, Edmond, Jr. Left to cherish the memory of Jeannette are her sons, Paul E. (Terry) Ciesielski and Mark T. Ciesielski; grandchildren, Sara Ciesielski, Peter Ciesielski, and Emily Ciesielski; and great-grandchildren, Kylin and Sopheria. Jeannette was a most loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, friend, neighbor, cousin, mentor. She was a parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic, where she was a teacher for the first kindergarten class. Jeannette also was a lector, a Eucharistic minister, a Cub Scout den mother, a member of the Harvest House, Sisters Auxiliary, and Rosary Society. She and Louis were very active with the St. Vincent de Paul Society. A special thanks to the kind and caring staff at Sanctuary at St. Paul’s and Home by the Dome, and in particular to Jim and Cheryl Wroblewski, who truly were a remarkable blessing to our mom. Visitation for Jeannette will be 3:00pm-7:00pm, Tuesday, August 2, 2022 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed at 6:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am, Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at St. Adalbert Catholic Church with Fr. Daryl Rybicki officiating. Entombment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 520 Crescent Ave., South Bend, IN 46617 or the St. Adalbert Church, 2505 W. Grace St., South Bend, IN 46619.
