Wlyadislaus Bartoszek
The death of Wlyadislaus Bartoszek occured yesterday afternoon at 3:10 o'clock. Mr. Bartoszek was one of the best known and influential Polish citizens of South Bend. he was born in Oslek, powiat Posen, Poland in 1858, he being 41 years old. In 1879 he emigrated to this country and settled in Baltimore, Maryland. After a year's residence in that city he came to South Bend and has since resided here, being engaged in the meat business until within last yearwhen ill health compelled him to retire. For the lasteight months he has suffered with Dropsyand it was from that that his death resulted. Beside his aged father and mothera wife and six children and four sistersMrs. Steven Wawzon, Mrs Josephine Badura, Mrs Frank K Palickaof this city and Mrs Konstantia Mazurkiewicz of Otis, Indiana survive him.
Mr. Bartoszek was a Prominent society man and the funeral will be held under the auspices of St Stanislaus, St.Valentine and St. Kazimer societies. He was also a member of the Polish National Alliance and the Polish Roman Catholic Union. The time of the funeral will be published later.
