South Bend -Frank Z. Gerbasich, 90, passed away at 12:00pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 in his residence. Frank was born on November 13, 1920 in South Bend to late Paul and Mary (Nemeth) Gerbasich. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn (Kruszewski) of 68 years; their children, Paul (Mary Eleanor) Gerbasich and Marc (Karen) Gerbasich, Amy (Rick) Bognar of South Bend; six grandchildren, Grant and Kaley Bognar, Mary Patt (Stewart) Spalding, Alana (Casey) Nelson, Michael (Mary) Gerbasich and Nicole (Kevin) Mentag ; two great-grandchildren; his sister, Mary Jane Gerbasich of South Bend; and by his brother, Victor Gerbasich of South Bend. Frank honorably served his country in the United States Army during WWII in the European Theatre. He was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was a member of VFW 1157, and dearly loved spending time with his grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00pm on Friday, May 13, 2011 in Holy Family Catholic Church.
