Mr. Joseph Charles Goschka, 53, passed away at Parkview North Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN on the evening of Saturday, October 17, 2020. Mr. Goschka was born on April 21, 1967 in Hillsdale, MI to James A. Goschka and Carol M. (Dunbar) Hayes. Joseph served in the United States Air Force and worked as an airplane mechanic. He spent most of his life in Gas City, IN, having relocated to New Haven in 2019. Joey was an avid fisherman. He loved going up to Lake Michigan to visit his grandparents, Nonny and Pa, at Betsie River Campsite. He also loved to joke and tease. His laughter will be forever missed. Joseph was a beloved son, brother, grandson, cousin and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Joseph is survived by his father, James A. Goschka; six siblings: Janel J. (Michael S.) Redman of Mishawaka, IN, Andrew P. (Tracy) Hayes of Osceola, IN, Michael L. (Kristi) Hayes of Mishawaka, IN, Joseph P. Hayes of Mishawaka, IN, Beth Ann (Tony) Hayes of Edwardsburg, MI and Anthony Q. (Dawn) Hayes of Sturgis, MI; paternal grandmother Alice L. Goschka of Hillsdale, MI; as well as a host of extended family members and friends. Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Carol M. Hayes. Per the family’s wishes, no public services are currently scheduled. The family will gather privately at a later date to celebrate Joseph’s life. A burial of cremated remains at Fairview Cemetery will also take place at a later date. Palmer Funeral Homes - Bubb Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
