Walkerton -- Harriet Fuchs, 85, of Miller’s Merry Manor, died at 7:45 p.m. Monday in Michiana Community Hospital, South Bend. Mrs. Fuchs was an employee of the former Wilson Bros., South Bend. She was born Oct. 3, 1907, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. As Harriet Jendrzejewski, she married James Fuchs. He died June 15, 1991. She is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Mumford of Auburn, Ind., Carol Wiltrout of Mishawaka and Loretta Ransberger of LaPorte; three sons, Tommy L. Fox of Walkerton, Richard Fuchs of Mishawaka and Mitchell Fuchs of Kenosha, Wis.; 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Bethel Center. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph Funeral Home. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Spina Bifida Association of South Bend. Published in the South Bend Tribune; Tuesday, June 15, 1993.
