Aug. 14, 1983 - Feb. 12, 2009
SOUTH BEND - February 12th, Alesia, 25, ran to Jesus with her ponytail flying. She lived at 19320 Sundale Drive with her parents, John and Joyce, who tenderly cared for her after being diagnosed with leukodystrophy at the age of seven. Alesia gave her heart to Jesus when she was five, and while she could still speak, sang His praises, telling a friend, "If we don't praise Him, the rocks will cry out." Always brave and strong, Alesia's favorite saying was "If I can take it, you can take it." We ask that when you look to the night skies, that you search for Alesia's star near the Sword of Orion, named for her "Alesia The Courageous." Along with her parents, survivors include her grandparents, Stanley and Adeline Zalas, and Joseph Hartsough; and aunts, Mary Khraulec and Susan Gosser. Our family would like to thank all those who have prayed for and loved our sweet angel girl all these years. Because of Alesia's love for the African people, we ask that no flowers be sent and any donations be made to Compassion for Africa, c/o Sigmond Frantz, 19420 Dresden Drive, South Bend, IN 46637. Services will be held at a later date. Palmer Funeral Homes and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting with arrangements. Online condolences may be made to Alesia's parents
