Church Birth record notes Franciszkas Birth in Bydgoszcz / Broomberg, Prussian Poland while the NI letter of intent states Heinciendorf / Heinzendorf Ger many.
The place of birth was a village called Heinzendorf, which is now called Hyncice. The area borders where Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic come together. The town of Heinzendorf occupies both sides of a stream that carves its way through the rolling countryside. Most of the houses today, and then, had two stories with slate roofs. The people live in the town and work the farms in the countryside. 1882 the town had 102 families.
Bydgoszcz is located strategically between the Brda and Vistula Rivers in North - Central Poland. It was earlier the capital of the Bydgoszcz Voivodship. Since 1999, together with Torun, it is the capital of the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodship. The first settlers came to Bydgoszcz as far back as the 12th century, but it attained the status of a township only in the 14th century under the Polish King Kazimierz. After that, until the 17th century, there was rapid development of the town with growing trade and coin minting being done here.
The Prussians, who governed the state after the partition of Poland, took full advantage of the location of the town between the two rivers and made channels to link the rivers. Grain and wood was transported through this route and a flourishing trade was carried out making Bydgoszcz an important commercial center. At the time of the industrial revolution, a rail link was established between Bydgoszcz and Berlin, further enhancing its economic importance.
