MISHAWAKA, IN - Larry Louis Lovechio, 69, of Mishawaka, IN, passed away at 8:54 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 in his residence. Larry was born on June 15, 1949 in Mishawaka to Louis and Hildegarde Lovechio. On May 23, 1970 Larry married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen (Kathy) Leyes. Larry and Kathy shared 48 years of marriage. Kathy survives along with their daughter, Jennifer (Gregory) Wozniak; their son, Joseph (Michelle) Lovechio; and grandsons, Adam and Jacob Wozniak of South Bend, and Dominic and Louis Lovechio of Granger. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sharon (Lovechio) Birdwell; his brother, Thomas Lovechio; father-in-law, William Leyes; and mother-in-law, Lois Leyes.Larry graduated from Penn High school in 1967; he served in the Army National Guard and was a reserve officer for the St. Joseph County police since 2000. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka where he served in the Ushers Club. He was a member of the American Legion, Model A Ford Club, VFW, and Calvert Rod and Gun Club. Larry was co-owner of Land Auto Sales and worked security for the St. Joseph County Public Library and Allied Universal Security Services. Larry enjoyed his time at the lake, spending time with his family, and serving the community as a reserve officer. He will be greatly missed by all. Visitation for Larry will be on Monday, January 14, at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where a Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 15 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 225 South Mill Street, Mishawaka. Father Christopher Lapp will officiate the services, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Mishawaka. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 208 S.
