South Bend - Susan (Sue) Elizabeth (Carr) Lopinski, 76 years old, passed away Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Wellbrooke Nursing Facility in South Bend. Susan was born December 28, 1945 in South Bend to the late Edward and Anne (Nicol) Carr. Sue graduated from the South Bend Central High School. Left to cherish the memory of Susan is her loving husband, Leonard Lopinski of 46 years, he dearly loved his Suszi Q. Sue is also survived by her son, Anthony (Mary Ann) Vargo; grandson, Nathan Vargo; several grand puppies and sister, Nancy (Robert) Raymond and nephew, John (Julie) Raymond. Sue always said that family is first, and that her family met the world to her. Sue adored her only grandson and he was her pride and joy. She loved her title being called Grammy. Sue enjoyed going to Nathan's baseball games, listening to her favorite music and attending concerts. She loved going on car rides to Potato Creek. She met no stranger and enjoyed talking with everyone. Sue was a lifelong resident of South Bend. She was parishioner of St. Hedwig Parish. She worked as an administrative assistant for St. Joseph Medical Center for 32 years before retiring. The family will be holding a private service at a later date.
