Ideal Baldoni, 93, of Filbert Road, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away at 5 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2003.
Ideal was born on Nov. 18, 1909 in Pitigliano, Italy, to Natale and Assunta (Bini) Baldoni. On July 20, 1937, Ideal married Jeanette Hunt. Jeanette passed away in 1983. Ideal retired from Bendix in 1956 after 23 years of service. Ideal is survived by one daughter; Jeanne Hougland of Signal Hill, Calif.; one son, Ideal F. Baldoni II of West Palm Beach, Fla.; one brother, Joseph (Phyllis) Baldoni of South Bend, Ind.; one sister, Agnes (Helge) Swanson of South Bend, Ind.; five grandchildren, Stacie, Amie, Ideal III, Mario, Gino; six nieces, Susie, Karen, Sylvia, Lori, Beth Ann and Mary Jo; three nephews, Louis F. Jr., Natale and Sam. He was a member of St. Matthew Cathedral. Family and friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, Ind., where a rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral services will take place at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 4, 2003, at St. Matthew Cathedral with Father Michael Heintz officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Matthew's Cathedral or to the Italian American Heritage Society of Notre Dame/ Michiana.
