John P. Borlick, 89, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2016 in the Hospice House of St. Joseph County. John was born July 1, 1926 in Crumstown to the late John and Josephine (Wagner) Borlik. John was also preceded in death by a sister, Alice Borlik, and Loretta Zahrn. On July 3,1948 in St. Hedwig Catholic Church (on the hottest day in July) John married his loving wife of 67 years Esther (Witucki) Borlick, she survives along with their children, Susan (Duane) Christner of Frostport, Fl., David Borlick of San Diego, CA., and Lorie (Dr. Hugh) Hedman of Granger, 6 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; and a step-sister, Marceline Kopscynski. John honorably served his country in the United States Navy during World War II in the Pacific on the USS Drayton. He was employed at Studebakers and Hill White Trucking, John retired on October 16, 1984. John was a parishioner of St. Anthony Catholic de Padua. He was member of the American Legion #357, and a volunteer Firefighter in Crumstown Indiana for 17 years. John loved dancing, building bird houses and going to the Casino. Visitation for John is 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Sunday, January 24, 2016 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed at 4:00pm. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10:00am in the Funeral Home on Monday, January 25, 2016. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Hospice Foundation 501 Comfort Place Mishawaka, IN 46545 or St. Anthony De Padua Church.
