Florence E. DePaepe, 96, of Regency Place of South Bend, Ind., passed away Tuesday, June 29, in the nursing home. Florence was born on Dec. 20, 1907, in South Bend, to Matthew and Leokadya (Chmielewski) Janowski. She retired from the University of Notre Dame in 1975 after 14 years of service with St. Michael Laundry.

On June 16, 1934, Florence married Rudolph DePaepe, who preceded her in death on June 18, 1969. Surviving is a son, Rudolph DePaepe and his wife, Ruth of Cass Lake, Minn.; daughters, Mary Hartman and her husband, Tony of Iron River, Mich., Ann Hrabowy and her husband, Hans of Mattawan, Mich., Helen Davis and her husband, Thomas of Niles, Mich.; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 3, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka, Ind., with burial to follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Notre Dame. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 2, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a Rosary will be held at 6:30 p.m. Florence was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka.
