Thomas John Walczewski, 69, passed away Friday, December 3, 2021. Tom was born April 23, 1952 in South Bend to the late Casimir and Theresa (Stopczynski) Walczewski. Left to cherish the memory of Tom is his loving wife, Wanda Walczewski; step-children, Brian (Chelie) Smith, Bradley (Dawn) Smith; grandchildren, Sean, Katelyn, Paige, Caiden Smith, Kayla Conway, Gabriella, Coulton Smith; sisters, Mary (Jim) Fox, Diane (Ray) Jones; brothers, Richard Walczewski, John (Denise) Walczewski; and six nieces & nephews. Tom was a board member for Niles Four Flags USBC, Niles Hall of Fame for bowling, and the 300 Club. He played softball for 32 years, and was a huge Notre Dame Football, Women's basketball, Cubs and Bears Fan! Tom loved having Monster bonfires with family and friends. He always attended sporting events for the grandkids and great nephews, and enjoyed going to nationals and state bowling. Tom bragged how he built the brakes on the airplanes, always took credit after landing. His great passion was cutting and splitting firewood. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Thursday, December 9, 2021 in St. Pius X Catholic Church, with visitation to be held 9:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the Mass in the church. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery. ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. is assisting the family.
