SOUTH BEND - Leo “Sonny” Golubski, Jr., 70, of South Bend, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2018 in his home. He was born on December 25, 1947, in South Bend, to the late Leo, Sr. and Dorothy (Samp) Golubski. On October 15, 1977, he married Deborah Dzierla, who survives. Also surviving are his three children, Phillip (Jenny) Golubski of Lakeville, IN, Michelle (Christopher) Gasko, and Jennifer (Kory) Klute, both of South Bend; eight grandchildren, Shelby Botkin, Lillian, Abigal and Lucas Gasko, Kathryn, Clarissa and Leo Golubski, and Kalub Klute; two sisters, Patricia Shell of Plymouth, IN and Roseanne Willis of Mishawaka; three brothers, Robert (Cindy), Michael (Teri) and Charles (Melody) Golubski all of South Bend; and by a sister-in-law, Laura Golubski of South Bend. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, James Joseph and Thomas Stanley Golubski. Sonny worked as a mechanic for over 40 years, before retiring from Gurley Leep Automotive. He was a Parishioner of Holy Family Church, a United States Army Veteran of Vietnam, a member of the American Legion Post #284, VFW #1954, Army Navy Club, Past President of Bowler's Country Club, Current President of the Indiana State Council of Clubs, and a member of the St. Joe County Council of Fraternal Veterans and Social Societies, Inc. Sergeant-At-Arms. Visitation for Sonny will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, where a parish Rosary will be prayed at 5 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family Church, 56405 S. Mayflower Rd., South Bend.
