Harriett T. Jeffrey, age 96, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, died Friday, January 16, 2009, of natural causes at her home in Houston, Texas.
She was born October 14, 1912, in Chicago Illinois to the late Peter and Anna Pozniak. She was married August 10, 1935 to Andrew Banasiak (Deceased). On January 9, 1971 Harriett was remarried to Earl Jeffrey (Deceased). Harriett retired to Koontz Lake, Indiana and lived there for 24 wonderful years filled with gardening, canning, and happy memories of family and friends. After Koontz Lake, she lived in Crown Point Indiana for ten years with her daughter Leona. In 2003 she moved to Houston, Texas to live with her daughter Nancy. Harriett was an avid gardener, pinochle player and traveler. Harriett's beloved dog, a poodle named Jacques, was by her side for many years. Harriett is survived by Arthur Borrelli, son-in-law; Leona and John Stanger, daughter and son-in-law; Nancy and Ralph Lehmann, daughter and son-in-law; Earl and Sandy Jeffrey, son and daughter-in-law; William and Joyce, son and daughter-in-law; Lucile, daughter-in-law; 14 grandchildren: Karen, Susan, Earl, David, Kimberley, Terri, Denise, Joe, Andy, Ann-Marie, Mark, Niki, Eric, Aimee; 17 great-grandchildren: Tommy, William, Daniel, Amanda, Michael, Becca, Daniel, Alicia, Anthony, Kate, Jack, Colin, Jimmy, Wilson, Kendalyn, Madison and Michael. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents and spouses, she was proceeded in death by five brothers, John, Stanley, Frank, Joseph and Leonard one sister, Sophie, one daughter Dolores Borrelli, one son Tom Jeffrey and one grandson Tom Jeffrey. Funeral services for Harriett T. Jeffrey will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 19, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 6646 Addicks Satsuma Road, Houston, TX 77084. Relatives and friends are welcome at the church on Monday for Visitation at 1:00 p.m. and Catholic mass at 2:00 p.m.. Harriett's final resting place will be Grovertown Cemetery, Grovertown, Indiana. She will be placed beside her late husband Earl Jeffrey.
