Lucille Krol
Feb. 14, 1922 - March 29, 2008
SOUTH BEND - Lucille Krol, 86, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Saturday, March 29, in Hamilton Grove Communities, New Carlisle. Lucille was born on February 14, 1922, in South Bend, to the late Bert and Bernice Ciesiolka. On June 26, 1943, she was united in marriage to Harry J. Krol, who preceded her in death in 1968. She was also preceded in death by two infant sons, Pat and Mike. Lucille is survived by her four sons of whom she was very proud, Victor (Lois), Tony, Arthur (Suzanne) and Walter (Donna) Krol, all of South Bend. She was Grandma Lulu to her four grandsons, Brian (Vickie), Allan (Sarah), Gregory and Jason Krol, all of South Bend. She was Busia to her two great-grandchildren, Michael Krol and Addison Krol, both of South Bend. She is survived by sisters-in-law, Virginia Krol, Blanche Cenova and Irene Krol, along with many nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Carolyn Ruetz of Granger. A special family friend, Jean Anderson of South Bend, also survives. Two sisters, Sarah Bednarek and Violet Zwierzynski, and a brother, Harry Ciesiolka, preceded her in death. Lucille was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church, South Bend. The family has many fond memories of her days cooking Polish dinners for the West Side Democratic Club, MR and ZB Falcons. She also worked at Century Center before her retirement. The family would like to express their gratitude and thanks to all of the ladies of Hamilton Grove for the special care they provided Lucille over the last seven years. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. today (Monday, March 31) in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 1, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. For those who are unable to attend the funeral liturgy, condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
