Anna R. Nawrocki, 91, of LaPorte, died peacefully at 6:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at Golden Living Fountainview Terrace in LaPorte. She was born April 19, 1920, in LaPorte to Joseph and Rosalie Sanetra. Anna was a retired beautician. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, LaPorte. Anna enjoyed reading, making crafts, planting flowers and bingo, but especially loved eating out and her chocolates. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. On July 2, 1938, in LaPorte, she married Leonard Nawrocki, who preceded her in death in 1961. Also preceding her in death were her parents; one sister, Mary Mrowiec; one brother, Charles Sanetra; and two sons, Louis and James Nawrocki. Surviving are one son, Robert (Linda) Nawrocki of LaPorte; one daughter, Mary Ann (Phillip) Poczekay of Michigan City, IN; six grandchildren, Robert Nawrocki Jr., Stephanie Carpenter, Anne Green, Carol Dutko, Thomas Poczekay, and Debra Wheeland; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral Mass of Christian burial will be held at noon Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, LaPorte, with Rev. Ian Williams officiating. Visitation will Tuesday from 9 to 11:30 a.m. at Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, LaPorte. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sacred Heart Building Fund, 130 Bach St., LaPorte, IN 46350.
