Klara Custard, age 82, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away at 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Center for Hospice, Mishawaka. She was born on November 28, 1938, in Mainz, Germany to the late Joseph and Anna (Foster) Hupt. Klara is survived by her children, Mike Custard of South Bend, Randy Custard of Mishawaka, Michelle Cook of Washington, D.C., and Corina DeMaegd of Mishawaka; and nine grandchildren who knew her as “Oma”. She adored all her grandchildren. Klara is also survived by her two sisters, Malene Shafer and Carol Holzer, both of Germany. Klara lived at Riverview Apartments in Mishawaka for over 20 years. She retired from Thermoplastics in 1997, after 23 years of service. Klara was a member of the Dank German Club for fifty years. She loved going to yard sales, it was a big part of her life. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2021, at Palmer Funeral Home - River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN. Pastor Bob Vale will officiate.
