SOUTH BEND - Gertrude K. Burko, 89, of Garfield Heights, OH (formerly of South Bend) passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Mary Mount Hospital, Garfield Heights, OH. She was born on November 17, 1926, in South Bend, IN to the late Edward and Mary (Wozniak) Kloski. Along with her parents; she was also preceded in death by one brother, Joseph Kloski. On October 10, 1953, as Gertrude K. Kloski, she married Nicola Burko, who preceded her in death on October 22, 1992. Gertrude is survived by her children; Patricia A. Burko and John M. Burko, both of Garfield Heights; and her brothers, Alex Kloski; John Kloski; Frank Kloski; and Bernie (Katherine) Kloski, all of South Bend, IN. She was a former parishioner of St. Stanislaus B.M. Catholic Church, South Bend, where she belonged to the Harvest house. She was also a member of the Golden Cluster at St. Hedwig Catholic Parish, South Bend. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday February 21, 2016 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, where a rosary will be prayed. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday February 22, 2016 at St. Stanislaus B.M. Catholic Church, 415 N. Brookfield St., South Bend.
