MISHAWAKA - Rosemary Megyese, 96, of Mishawaka, passed away after an illness on Saturday, May 24, in Fountainview Place, Mishawaka. Rosemary was born July 17, 1911, in South Bend, as the daughter of Joseph and Julia (Gergich) Kenna. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Thomas Moorman Jr.; one great-great-grandson, Nicholas Boehman; four brothers, Joseph, William, Paul and Edward Kenna; two sisters, Ethel Miner and Irene Kenna. On December 30, 1933, in St. Stephen's Catholic Church, South Bend, as Rosemary Kenna, she married Joseph Megyese, who preceded her in death on January 7, 1990. She is survived by her daughter, Rosemary (Tom) Moorman of Mishawaka; three grandchildren, Pamela (Rick) Goddard of Mishawaka, Mike (Linda) Moorman of Mishawaka and Susan Collier of South Bend; 12 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. Rosemary was employed for 10 years at the Studebaker Corporation in South Bend as an executive secretary, retiring in 1964. Rosemary was a South Bend Central High School graduate, a member of Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center Auxiliary, the Maryann Club of Studebaker's, was a member of St. Bavo Catholic Church, and the euchre club of St. Jude Catholic Church. She was known as "Grandma Rosie" to everyone's children, and always had to know what was happening with all the grandchildren. She lovingly gifted them all at Christmas. She loved to travel, garden, play bridge and euchre, read, and especially spend time with her family. Friends may call today from 2:00 to 8:00 PM in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, May 29, at 10:00 a.m. in St. Bavo Catholic Church, Mishawaka, with Rev. Barry England officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Rosemary's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
