CULVER - Lucy "Jane" Overmyer, age 93, of 13739 State Road 17, Culver, Indiana, 46511, passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013, at 4:20 p.m. at home. Jane was born on June 21, 1920, in Culver, Indiana, to Charles and Lovina (Listenberger) Cooper. Jane proudly served her country during WW II. She joined the United States Marine Corps on May 12, 1943. Jane was in the Quarter Master Corps and was discharged as a Sergeant on September 26, 1945. Irvin Overmyer and Jane Cooper were married on December 19, 1948, in Hubbard, Indiana. She worked for several different companies. Her last position was at Osborn Seed in Culver. She was a member of the American Legion Post 27 in Plymouth, Indiana; Pretty Lake Trinity United Methodist Church in Plymouth; and the Maxinkuckee Rebekah Lodge 844 in Culver, which she joined in 1939. Jane enjoyed playing the piano. She and Irvin loved traveling to many different areas. Jane is survived by her husband of almost 65 years (on December 19), Irvin Overmyer; her granddaughter, Angela Zellers of Indianapolis, Indiana; her three nephews, Chuck Cooper of Idaho, Michael Cooper of Pennsylvania and Dave Cooper of Wheatland, Indiana. Jane was preceded in death by her daughter, Jill Boetteher in January of 1995 and her brother, Nelson Cooper.
