MISHAWAKA - Eugene Harsanyi, 83, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 in Hamilton Grove Nursing Home, New Carlisle where he resided the past 15 months. Eugene was born March 19, 1931 in South Bend to the late Paul and Anna (Ivanscics) Harsanyi. Eugene was also preceded in death by brothers Frank, Steve, and Joseph. Survivors include his brother, Rudy (Loretta) Harsanyi; nephews, David (Pam) Harsanyi, Gene (Karol) Harsanyi, and Gerry (Arline) Youts; and niece, Sandy (Abe) Papai. Eugene was a Korean War veteran serving in the US Army and retired from Ball Band in Mishawaka. He was an enthusiastic sports fan and especially followed his home team, Notre Dame. His easy going congeniality will be missed. Visitation is 5-8pm, Sunday, April 13, 2014 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. Funeral Service is 10am Monday in the Funeral Home.
