KENNETH LEE SCHEYVING, 72, died on Sunday, May 3rd, 2020 at 10:00pm in Huntington Beach Hospital in Huntington Beach, California. He passed away from complications due to COVID19. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Andrea (67), his 3 step-children: Ethan, Anisa and Krista as well as 13 beautiful grandchildren; his brother, Keith Leroy Scheyving, 69 (Veronica) of Winnetka, California; his niece, Kimberly Anne Bauer, 34, (Grant) and great-niece, Brooke Lynn (4) and great-nephew, Hudson Michael (10 months) of Long Beach, California; his nephew, Joshua Maurice Scheyving, 29, of Garden Grove, California; and many friends and relatives. Born in Mishawaka, Indiana and raised in South Bend, Indiana, Ken attended Purdue University for a short time and also obtained his private pilot's license before enlisting in the Air Force and being deployed to Thailand where he served in the Vietnam War. After completing his tour of duty, he returned and moved to Edwards Air Force Base in California in 1971. Ken attended Northrop Aviation School where he obtained his A & P (Airframe and Powerplant) License. He went on to work in a supervisory position as Quality Assurance Auditor at Jet America and then Alaska Airlines before retiring in 2008. Ken and Andrea met in 1978 at Denny’s and were married in 1982. He was passionate about his wife and children, loved everything having to do with airplanes and trains and enjoyed watching people. Ken was preceded in death by his father, Maurice Albert Scheyving (90) on May 10th, 2010 and Helen Marie Scheyving (93) on January 3rd, 2018. Ken will be greatly missed.
