SOUTH BEND - Verna A. Kurdys, 101, passed away at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in Sanctuary of St. Joseph. Verna was born on January 13, 1909 in South Bend to the late Valentine and Marcianna (Walter) Przybylski. On May 8, 1929 she married, Irvin J. Kurdys, he preceded her in death in October 1976; she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Toth; and grandson, Larry Toth. She is survived by her son, Jerome Kurdys of Georgetown, CO; three grandsons, David Toth of Scottsdale, AZ, Thomas Toth of Granger, and James Toth of Chicago, IL; several great nieces and great nephews; and many great grandchildren; and by family friend, Alice Toth. Verna was a lifelong parishioner of St. Adalbert Catholic Church where she was a member of the Rosary and Solidarity Club. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 3, 2010 in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, October 4, 2010 in St. Adalbert Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sanctuary of St. Joseph, Attn Bingo Prize Fund, 4600 W. Washington St., South Bend, IN 46619.
